Shelby Jobe Serves as William Woods University Ambassador

Shelby Jobe of Russellville, Mo., is one of 21 students who will serve as a University Ambassador at William Woods University for the next academic year. They form a select group of students who aid the Office of Admissions in the student recruitment process. These students are unique individuals who are diverse in their activities, majors, genders and ethnicities.

Becoming a University Ambassador is hardly an easy task. There are several qualifications and key components that are required during the selection process. These qualifications include good academic standing, qualities of leadership and desire to promote the university, demonstrated campus and/or community involvement and the ability to balance academics with extra-curricular activities.

The ambassadors stay busy during the semester with several activities, such as campus tours, weekly office hours and other admissions events.

Allison Bornhauser, assistant director of admissions, said, "We are excited to welcome the new University Ambassadors to our team! They are all a great representation of William Woods and bring excitement, new stories and experiences to share with prospective families."

Bornhauser co-chairs the University Ambassadors program with Kristen David, admissions representative.
