Erica Begley, a William Woods University Student, receives portfolio award

Erica Begley of Hannibal, Mo., a William Woods University student recently received achievement award during annual portfolio reviews.

Students presented their portfolios in front of various faculty and staff members, as well as working professionals. They were judged on their presentation in a variety of categories, based on the work they've done while at WWU. The purpose of the review is to assess the educational development and growth of the students and award those who have excelled in their respective field.

Six visual art students were recipients of awards. They are: Kaycee Wyatt of Wathena, Kan., professional development; Anna LeRoy of Rhineland, Mo., craftsmanship and design; Madelynn Meyer of St. Charles, Mo., expression and creativity; Jennifer Sain of Fulton, Mo., dedication to the arts, and Elise Fumagalli of Washington, Mo., and Erica Begley of Hannibal, Mo., and Ben Nickelson of Jefferson City, Mo., artistic growth.

Three students earned awards in theatre: Jason Cavallone of Fulton, Mo., professional presentation; Dustin West of Kansas City, Mo., dedication to craft, and Michael Dodson of Mexico, Mo., artistic growth.

Four students earned awards in communications. Eliza Payne of Zionsville, Ind., professional presentation; Nicole Elliott of Fulton, Mo., creativity; Kelly Maurer of Festus, Mo., technical approach, and Aaron Griffin of Jefferson City, Mo., overall growth.
