Leverenz receives McNutt Award at William Woods University

Alaina Leverenz received the prestigious Amy Shelton McNutt Award at William Woods University.

The McNutt Award is given to the graduate whose consistency of purpose and selfless devotion to service were contributed without thought of reward and who best exemplifies the spirit and qualities of Amy Shelton McNutt, an alumna of William Woods in whose honor the award was named.

A graduate of Hallsville High School, Leverenz was extremely active on campus. She was editor-in-chief, business manager, writer and designer for The Hoot student magazine. She was vice president of marketing for Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society; president, vice president and community service chair of Sigma Alpha Pi National Society of Leadership and Success; and a member of Order of Omega Greek honor society.

She served as a University Ambassador, chair and secretary of Student Assembly and Alumni Weekend chair, historian and secretary for Student Alumni Council.

Among the positions she held in her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, was vice president of philanthropy, raising awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence. She also served as Pi Chi chair, vice president of recruitment and marketing and vice president of scholarship and service for Panhellenic Council.

Leverenz received the 2016 Greek Distinguished Service Award and was named to the 2016 edition of "Who's Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges."
