Sarah-Rose Brush Competes in St. Louis Area Dressage Show Fall Classic/Region 4 Championships for WWU.

2013 Nov 23

Dressage riders from William Woods University had a successful weekend at the St. Louis Area Dressage Show Fall Classic/Region 4 Championships earlier this fall.

WWU took nine of its riders to show at the annual SLADS fall classic, where the Region 4 Championships were being held.

"We had another great show at the National Equestrian Center. It's always fun to show at SLADS shows-we know most of the competitors and they and the show management are happy to see us coming because we're friendly and helpful," said Karen Pautz, WWU dressage instructor.

WWU results:

Sarah-Rose Brush of Paso Robles, Calif., on Isildur’s Heir (Strider), second in First-Level Junior/Young Rider.

Horses showed once or twice a day during the three-day show, and Pautz was happy with the results of the weekend.

"I was really pleased with the WWU riders and horses. I saw consistent improvement through the three days," Pautz said.

"I was especially happy for Krista Spencer and Take Over, who traveled to Kentucky for the FEI Junior/Young Riders Championships in July, but weren't able to compete. At SLADS, Krista and Tigger won the Region 4 FEI/Young Rider Championship against tough competition, so that was a nice payoff after all the hard work they've put in all summer," she said.
