Stephen Chamineak participates in 'The Woman in Black' at William Woods University

2014 Mar 17

Members of William Woods University's Jesters theatre organization terrified their audiences last week when they performed the spine-chilling ghost story, "The Woman in Black."

"The Woman in Black" is a 2012 British horror film based on Susan Hill's novel of the same name. It also was a 1989 television drama.

Stephen Chamineak of Hazelwood, Mo., participated in the production as a cast member.

During the play, a ghost, seeking vengeance for the death of her young child, attaches herself to Arthur Kipps, who hopes to exorcise her by reenacting a ghostly event that befell him years ago. The specter unleashes a macabre sequence of events that culminates in a chilling twist in the play's final moments.

Jesters is dedicated to fostering students' theatrical, artistic and creative growth. The goal is to provide students with opportunities for roles and responsibilities they might not get in the main stage productions. Participation from students of all academic backgrounds is encouraged.
