Stephen Chamineak to perform in 'All My Sons' at William Woods University

2014 Feb 28

Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," a play about war, the choices we make and their consequences, will be performed by the William Woods University theatre department Feb. 27-March 2.

Based on a true story, "All My Sons" will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 - March 1, with a matinee at 2 p.m. March 2 in Dulany Auditorium.

Stephen Chamineak of Hazelwood, Mo. will be performing as George Deever.

During WWII, Joe Keller and Herbert Deever ran a machine shop that made aircraft engine cylinder heads for P-40s. The parts were defective, inadvertently causing the deaths of 21 pilots. Deever was sent to prison, but Keller went free and made a lot of money.

The Kellers' son Larry was reported missing during the war, and now his brother Chris wants to marry Larry's former girlfriend, Ann Deever. Ann's brother George initially believed in his father's guilt, but upon visiting him in jail, realizes his innocence and becomes enraged at the Kellers for deceiving him. He returns to save his sister from her marriage to Chris, creating the catalyst that destroys the Keller family.

Community cast members from Fulton, Mo., are Michael B. Wilson, as Joe Keller; Susan M. Johnston, as Kate Keller; Jody Paschal, as Chris Keller; Michael Dodson, as Dr. Jim Bayliss; and Logan Garner as Bert.

Students in the cast are: Laura Liebhart of McLouth, Kan., as Ann Deever; Steven Chamineak Jr. of Hazelwood, Mo., as George Deever; Kassaundra Davidson of Roseau, Minn., as Sue Bayliss; Jonathan Meyer of Creve Coeur, Mo., as Frank Lubey; and Melissa Williams of St. Louis, Mo., as Lydia Lubey.
